Battlefield 2142 single player weapon unlock11/14/2022 ![]()
Unlike Battlefield 2, editing the n file does not work in properly setting a custom resolution, so this is the recommended method for doing so.Īutomatic Login allows you to automatically login to your EA Account and the particular Soldier you want to use each time you start the game. Now each time you launch the game it will run in the custom resolution specified, however note firstly that you must make sure your monitor can support this resolution, and secondly the Display Mode setting under the in-game Video Settings will not show the correct new resolution, not that this is a problem. "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" menu 1 fullscreen 1 szx 1280 szy 1024 The end result should look something like this: Then in the Target box put a single blank space after the last character and insert szx 1280 szy 1024, substituting any other number for the 1280 width and 1024 height respectively to suit your needs. For example to set a resolution of 1280x1024, go to your BF2142 launch icon, right-click on it and select Properties. It involves using the szx and szy command line options (covered in the Advanced Tweaking section). Since the lack of a range of resolutions is one of the most common complaints about BF2142, I'll spell out the solution again here. #BATTLEFIELD 2142 SINGLE PLAYER WEAPON UNLOCK FULL VERSION#Note that renaming or moving the Titan tutorial movie titan_tutorial.bik will cause problems if you try to view the Titan Tutorial by clicking the 'Titan Tips' option under Multiplay, so I don't recommend renaming this file - you can leave it as is, as it does not add to the startup time in the full version of the game. Alternatively, you can create a new folder in the same directory (with any name you wish) and move all the movies there to achieve the same effect. This will prevent these movie files from loading at startup and take you straight to the main login screen. So the simplest method to skip the startup movies is to go to your \Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\Movies directory and rename all the. #BATTLEFIELD 2142 SINGLE PLAYER WEAPON UNLOCK VERIFICATION#I also don't recommend deleting the movie files - this may cause problems with verification of client information on certain servers and/or with Punkbuster. To disable them permanently, you can't use the restart command line command, as this no longer works. My best Battefield memories are in 2142.The introductory movies to BF2142 add to the startup time for the game, as well as the memory usage. I would happily buy a 2142 remake using modern graphics. There were also less of them, so I guess that helped with the feeling of actually unlocking something useful. Infantry felt balanced, I also liked how weapon unlocks actually felt useful and important, not "spend 1,000,000 points to unlock this pointless flash light". I think it should have been exactly the same except you could only use it for a limited time but not blurring your vision (similar to the cloak ability of infiltrators in Planetside 2) The "cloaking device" was annoying because it blurred your vision while in use. I also loved how there was no ceiling on flight altitude I think my record was something like 60,000 meters! The walkers were a nice gimmick but not my personal favourite. They were hard to master but I thought that was a good thing, it meant you only got competent pilots. I also loved the gunships, combining the best of helicopters and aeroplanes. I felt the points system was very well structured because while you may not have actually fired a single shot, you may have provided valuable intel and support to your team. Yeah you got some idiots who would be the "commander" as some sort of power trip and yeah squads didn't always listen, but if you got a commander who knew what they were doing and capable squads, it lead to some very intense and unique matches. Made all the better because you got points for successful orders carried out as well as spotting enemy movements and successful air strike hits, basically making the commander role a viable play option. I loved how you could have a dedicated commander role who could call in airstrikes,"UAV" sensor scans, move the friendly titan and direct squads. 2142 was actually my favourite of the series. ![]()
